The HAL is a purpose-built facility that enables the evaluation of appetite and food consumption in a controlled environment.
  • To ensure that environmental influences are kept to a minimum, all test meals are consumed and data collected in individual isolation booths.

  • Test meals, planned by nutritional and dietary experts, are freshly prepared onsite in the HAL to provide additional control.

  • Data are captured directly on portable hand-held computers. These computers and all Human Appetite Laboratory procedures have been fully validated, with expert review of all validation data prior to use on a study.
